About Us
The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) is a multi-sectoral and inter-disciplinary body, which under the law is charged with the governance, implementationand policy direction of the SEP Law (RA 7611 of 1992) covering the Province of Palawan. SEP Law provided for the adoption of a comprehensive framework for the sustainable development of Palawan, compatible with protecting and enhancing the natural resources and endangered environment of the province. The Council was created to be responsible for the governance and implementation of the SEP. To support the Council, RA 7611 converted the Palawan Integrated Area Development Project Office (PIADPO) to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS), which will serve as a regular staff of the PCSD in the coordination of policies and functions, implementation of programs, and organization of services for the governance, implementation, and formulation of policy directions for the Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan.
